FOR WATER CONSERVATION AFTER 15 YEARS ( by Rudro Bhandary ) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I lived in Delhi but spent all my summer vacations in a beautiful village in Bengal. A small village on the bank of a tiny river called Saal. I love the place since the life there is different from city life which fascinates me the most. I have a dream-plan to do something for the villagers who immensely love me. I know all the houses, all the people as if the whole village is my family, my relatives. After 15 years I would like to do some activities based on the knowledge and experience I have been getting here as a student of NID.
I would make an ad-film on water conservation to make them aware how precious water is. To make this short ad-film I shall follow the pattern what they normally love to see, as I know their taste i.e. as simple as colourful.
I will also make a video on water conservation awareness programme...I shall pick up the characters from the village itself, I shall teach them acting and all required for the film...the villagers will definitely be happy to see themselves part of it which will be an easier way to convey the message. I may make big sized paintings/posters in the panchayat office and school premises depicting usage of water, draining system, cleanliness, planting trees etc.
I can give a small lecture regarding the same and can give BOROF ( ice cream type ), so that they remember it better. I know I will be successful because they respect me for the reason that I studied in a famous institute, live in a city doing something for the society.
thats really silly.if you want to help the village,do something bigger than this. you are calling them your family and that's the most you can do for them???
This interactive multi-author space has been set up as an experiment in online educational interactions as part of the teaching programme at NID within the Design Concepts & Concerns course conducted by Prof. M P Ranjan, Rashmi Korjan, Dimple Soni, Gayatri Menon and Rupesh Vyas. Other faculty, students and invited contributors have been requested from time to time to join as authors to explore the various dimensions of design processes and its design opportunities in India. The major themes that inform this course are discussed in greater detail in our advocasy blog Design for India at this link.
While this space is moderated by Prof. M P Ranjan, the views expressed by the individual authors are their own and it does not necessarily reflect the official views of the Institute.
